Itinerary
Your adventure begins in Sibu on a speedboat ride to Dalat, an outpost that will see you passing by longhouses and Malay villages. As you snaked through the Igan River via several villages and small town until Mukah. Overnight Melanau Heritage Lodge – The Lamin Dana.
Continue the journey with a river taxi ride along a scenic river, hands-on experience in preparing traditional foods such as sago, fish salad and others. The processing of sago is especially interesting. Witness how the raw materials in the form of a sago palm trunk is transformed into flour and how it’s oven baked over a wood fire into finished products such as sago pellets and tebaloi (sago biscuits).
